Self-Referrals

We welcome self-referral patients to meet with our specialists for consultation and treatment. Please call us at 937-293-1622 to schedule a consultation with a Urologist, Hematologist, Medical Oncologist or Radiation Oncologist. We will need some specific information about you when you call to make an appointment, please be sure you have all the information about you and your diagnosis available when you call. Some patients may have insurance, while others may not. Whether you have insurance or are planning to pay for your own care, our financial advocates and patient account representatives will assist you in coordinating payment.

Second Opinions

When you are fighting a disease like cancer, you want to feel confident that you are receiving the most up-to-date treatments. You also want to be sure that the treatment is delivered by a team of experts. We offer that expertise at Dayton Physicians Network. We know that a cancer diagnosis is a life-changing event. Many people experience a variety of emotions, including an overwhelming sense of needing to be sure. We want you to be sure that you have chosen the treatment approach for you.

Once you have received the doctor’s opinion about the diagnosis and treatment, you may decide to get another doctor’s advice before you begin treatment. This is call getting a second opinion and can help you make a more informed decision about your care. A second opinion can confirm or perhaps suggest changes to your doctor’s proposed treatment plan. A second opinion can also reassure you and your loved ones that you have explored every option available and have all your questions answered. This can happen seamlessly at your request.

At Dayton Physicians Network. We know that some people find it uncomfortable to request a second opinion. It may help you to know it is common for patients to seek out second opinions. You will find that most physicians welcome another doctor’s view. It is always best to let your doctor know that you prefer to have a second opinion as he/she can help you with your request.
