Physician Referrals

We want the referral process to be quick and easy for you and your staff. Our referral forms have all the information you need to refer your patient to us; simply select the appropriate form, then send the referral and requested records to us.

Once we receive the referral and the requested records, we will schedule the appointment, contact the patient directly and then notify your office of the appointment. We promise to contact the patient with an appointment date and time within 1-3 days of the request. If you or the patient prefers to have the appointment scheduled before leaving your office, simply call us and we will schedule your patient’s appointment on the spot.

Urgent Referrals

If your patient has an urgent need, please call us right away so that we can discuss what is happening with your patient. If needed, we may even have you to send the patient right over to be seen by a specialist. We want to do everything we can to help. We want you to refer to us with confidence, knowing that we understand and share your concern.

Our multi-specialty group includes highly trained and experienced radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, urologists and support staff who are dedicated to providing care for your patients in the same way you do. We know how important it is to work together to treat patients, and we want to be sure you remain engaged in your patients’ care. Self-Referrals

We welcome self-referral patients to meet with our specialists for consultation and treatment. Some patients may have insurance, while others may not. Whether you have insurance or are planning to pay for your own care, our financial advocates and patient account representatives will assist you in coordinating payment.

Second Opinions

When you are fighting a disease like cancer, you want to feel confident that you are receiving the most up-to-date treatments. You also want to be sure that the treatment is delivered by a team of experts. We offer that expertise at Dayton Physicians Network. We know that a cancer diagnosis is a life-changing event. Many people experience a variety of emotions, including an overwhelming sense of needing to be sure. We want you to be sure that you have chosen the treatment approach for you.

Once you have received the doctor’s opinion about the diagnosis and treatment, you may decide to get another doctor’s advice before you begin treatment. This is call to get a second opinion and can help you make a more informed decision about your care. A second opinion can confirm or perhaps suggest changes to your doctor’s proposed treatment plan. A second opinion can also reassure you and your loved ones that you have explored every option available and have all your questions answered. This can happen seamlessly at your request.

At Dayton Physicians Network. We know that some people find it uncomfortable to request a second opinion. It may help you to know it is common for patients to seek out second opinions. You will find that most physicians welcome another doctor’s view. It is always best to let your doctor know that you prefer to have a second opinion as he/she can help you with your request.

Our team of board-certified physicians can assist you with a second opinion. It is our practice, to collaborate with other members of the care team to provide the best treatment possible. We have many specialists available to support your request.

A second opinion can be provided in the office or at the comfort of your home. One of our world-class cancer specialists will review your medical records, including test results, and discuss your diagnosis with you virtually anywhere and close to home.
