Benign Disease Indications for Low Dose Radiation Therapy:

Osteoarthritis

When to consider radiation therapy

  • Painful OA of the knee, hip, hand, ankle, or other joints
  • Non-surgical candidates or those with refractory pain to conservative treatments

Dupuytren’s Contracture

When to consider radiation therapy

  • Early on in the disease process
  • Disease is progressing over 6-12 months
  • Before contracture is greater than 20 degrees

Ledderhose Disease (Plantar Fibromatosis)

When to consider radiation therapy

  • Painful plantar nodules with evidence of progression
  • Early disease (without contracture or ulceration)

Plantar Fasciitis

  • Chronic PF>3 months
