Lung cancer is the second most common cancer in both men and women but is the leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Smoking is the strongest risk factor for Lung cancer.
Dayton Physicians Network Offers Low Dose CT (LDCT) Lung Cancer Screenings.
Across the nation, approximately 12% of adults identify as smokers in 2025. Ohio smoking rate is slightly higher than the national average, at approximately 15%
Screening for lung cancer can help improve detection rates and when Lung cancer is detected early, the survival rate is higher.
Currently, less than 20% of eligible adults get screened.
The USPSTF recommends annual screening for lung cancer with low dose CT for:
- Adults between ages 50- 80.
- Active smokers or those who have quit smoking within the past 15 years.
- Those with a smoking history of at least 20 packs per year.
Dayton Physicians Network is committed to life beyond diagnosis. When you receive LDCT Lung Cancer screening at Dayton Physicians Network, our Medical Oncologists are already on your care team ready to start treatment in the event of a positive diagnosis.
Low Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening is covered by Medicare and by almost all private insurance companies.
